hahmed: Good afternoon
a42niem: hello hahmed
hahmed: I was wondering who are the developers with review and integrate into head rights? Two obvious ones are Carlos and Heng Sin
hengsin: hahmed, at the moment, only the 2 of us
hahmed: ok
tbayen: Hi, all! :-)
hahmed: Hi tbayen
a42niem: moin tbayen
Nicolas_: Hi !
hengsin: hi
hahmed: So hengsin you are only looking into the iDempiiere and not the transition 361 branch?
hengsin: idempiere only
hahmed: so what about IDEMPIERE-301
hahmed: lack of JasperReports is my no 1 roadblock in moving to iDempiere at the moment
a42niem: red1 AYT?
hengsin: I have resolve that at my latest commit. the solution proposed in 301 is not appropriate - we can't solve dependency issue by moving everything into core.
hahmed: hengsin: agreed, I meant the problem itself. I will check your latest commit if its already in head
tbayen: Thanks hengsin, I wanted to move to idempiere the next weeks and JasperReports not working would have shocked me...
tbayen: Are there more showstoppers before the release?
hengsin: we need to release a beta for broader testing. will do that once carlos have come back from his holiday.
hahmed: hengsin: do you plan on including not yet integrated but relatively important modules (FixedAssets, Manufacturing Light) into the beta?
hengsin: for the jasperreport integration, there are multiple deployment method so there might still be issues to be resolved.
tbayen: I would like to test it from the first day. :-) But I need the feeling that it works for me soemhow because I do some real productive work with my testinstallation.
hengsin: hahmed, probably not initially, time constraint.
tbayen: On the other hand: Noone will really test it without having some real work to be done.
hahmed: tbayen: it works as well as adempiere 361 if that's what you're using. JasperReport issue is just a deployment issue which just got over looked, but I am sure it won't be time consuming to fix
hengsin: tbayen, for jasperreport, what's the deployment method you use ?
hengsin: hahmed, what's the deployment method you use ?
hahmed: hengsin: attachment .jasper (or sometimes .jrxml)
tbayen: hengsin, I use resource: . It has big constraints. I wanted to write a new loader for the jasper system. But had no time yet.
tbayen: hengsin, I have a better version for reports in the classloader here but it is not ready for the trunk.
hahmed: hengsin: however I might switch to another way, since I upgraded to jasperreports 4.6.0 on my test branch and it doesn't read subreports from attachment. it works uptil 4.5.1, in 4.6.0 I think due to security, they removed the capability of looking for images, subreports in the same folder of no path is specified
hahmed: which brings me to another topic: IDEMPIERE-302
hahmed: jasperreports 3.7.3 is 2 years old!
hengsin: yeah, I notice that too, time to upgrade, I guess :)
tbayen: I looked not URLHandlers and ClassLoaders. I think we should build a kind of virtual filesystem for this. I collected my thoughts here http://www.frei-bier.org/wiki/JasperReports_ReportStarter_redesign If you want we can synchronize this effort in the idempiere wiki
tbayen: To give one more point: I had issues with caching JasperReports on a multiuser linux system. Cachefiles in /tmp/ were not readable/writable by other users.
hengsin: ok, will read that when I have time but at this point, I will not spend more time on this other than making the existing support work and maybe upgrade to a newer version. need to move on to other priority.
tbayen: OK. I will move my page to the new wiki and hahmed and I can collect thoughts there. If I find time to redo it I we will talk.
hahmed: tbayen: just looked briefly into your page and it sounds interesting, maybe you can publish your code, whatever is already done, and we can build on it for version 1.1
tbayen: I have no time for coding or to polish it these days. But I would be glad if you give your thoughts.
tbayen: hahmed, I moved it to http://wiki.idempiere.org/wiki/JasperReports_redesign so it is no more in my personal project's wiki.
red1: hi sorry for been late
a42niem: hi red1
hahmed: hi red1
hahmed: hengsin: can you look into IDEMPIERE-297 the patch is for 361 but easy to integrate into idempiere
red1: hi dirk a42niem .. thanks for your fix of the installer
a42niem: you are welcome, i have some feedback on the new version
a42niem: it still identifies itself as 0.9b
red1: i have to head home from a friend's place here.. so i be cut off for a while .. tbayen hope u keep the logs
red1: yes a42niem it is
red1: i am just making variants pending the real one
red1: they are throwawars
red1: throwaways but the latest c is to mark the good b
a42niem: an i had to uninstall/ install and then it works perfectly
a42niem: ah, gone already...
hengsin: hahmed, ok
hahmed: hengsin: and while you're at it another cosmetic fix: http://jira.idempiere.com/browse/IDEMPIERE-307
